Position Overview
Our client, a growing wholesale fuel distributor, is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial New Business Development Representative to develop branded wholesale fuel business throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. This is a true hunter role focused exclusively on generating new business. Unlike traditional territory sales positions, this role focuses on identifying opportunities, building relationships, and closing new branded fuel supply agreements with independent convenience store and gas station owners. Once a new customer has been successfully onboarded, the ongoing account management and operational support transition to an internal team, allowing you to stay focused on building pipeline and winning new business. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing organization with significant long-term expansion plans.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has experience calling on independent business owners, convenience stores, fuel retailers, and similar small-business customers and understands that success comes from persistence, relationship-building, and consistent prospecting. While previous fuel industry experience is highly desirable, we're also interested in candidates with strong B2B business development experience selling into owner-operated businesses. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys building relationships with local business owners—not someone whose experience has been focused exclusively on large corporate or enterprise accounts.
