Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) – Boston, MA

What You’ll Do- Round with neurosurgery residents in the morning to review the day’s plan for inpatient patients.
- Evaluate and see patients who “need to be seen,” based on the neurosurgery service needs.
- Review, place, and manage inpatient orders for appropriate patient care.
- Support inpatient workflow including discharge and related care coordination.
- Perform patient care activities only (resident program supports the OR; APPs do not go into the OR).
- Assist with inpatient procedures as applicable to the role, including preferred drain management (e.g., Hemovac/Jackson-Pratt drains).
What You Need
Required
- Board certification in Neurosurgery (BC in Neurosurgery required)
- MA state license
- At least 1 year of neurosurgery experience
Preferred
- Experience/ability to remove drains (Hemovac / JP drains)
About the Assignment
This is a hospital-based inpatient neurosurgery Physician Assistant role in Boston, Massachusetts, supporting adult patients from morning rounding through ongoing inpatient management. You’ll work closely with a resident program for coordinated care, focusing on patient care needs such as assessments, orders, and discharge support, with documentation using Epic.
