Job Title: Network Technician – Consultant (Desktop Support Technician) (100145)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina (Fully Onsite)
Address: Columbia, SC 29210
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Candidate Location Requirement: Candidate must be a South Carolina resident (no relocation)


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administration, installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of desktop hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, printer, network, and mobile device issues including MDM-managed iPhones.
  • Provide enterprise desktop support across central and remote office locations.
  • Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities including malware, ransomware, and other endpoint security risks.
  • Participate in network troubleshooting related to connectivity between endpoint devices and distribution switches.
  • Maintain and update tickets in the IT service management system and assist helpdesk staff with lower-tier support issues.
  • Prepare and configure new computer systems and devices for employees.
  • Update Active Directory user accounts, perform password resets, and manage system configuration updates using SCCM.
  • Manage inventory and maintenance requests for computers and printers across agency locations.
  • Assist with agency-wide IT equipment inventory management.
  • Deliver technical documentation, user documentation, and training materials.
  • Provide technical and user training sessions, including recorded knowledge transfer sessions and screen-sharing demonstrations.
  • Submit weekly status reports to the hiring manager outlining accomplishments and upcoming work.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Technology Management
    OR 5+ years of experience as a Network Technician.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise desktop support and customer service
  • Strong experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktop administration
  • 3+ years of System Administration experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with:
    • SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)
    • MDM (Mobile Device Management)
    • GPO (Group Policy Object Administration)
Preferred Skills
  • Strong understanding of enterprise desktop troubleshooting and network endpoint support
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms
    • VMware AirWatch
    • Microsoft Intune
  • Experience using Lansweeper
  • Familiarity with networking, virtual environments, databases, and storage
Preferred Certifications
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • MCSA: Windows 10
