Job Title: Senior Network Engineer 

Overview / Summary

A Senior Network Engineer Consultant is needed to support the Network Operations Center (NOC). Reporting to the NOC Manager, this role serves as a technical resource for the team, working on complex networking assignments that require independent judgment in troubleshooting, recommending solutions, and implementing changes with minimal supervision. This position supports a statewide network environment and contributes advanced technical expertise to maintain secure, reliable network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade networking products.
  • Manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a statewide network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and maintain efficient network communications.
  • Review and improve security compliance through cybersecurity best practices.
  • Implement updates and changes to maintain optimal connectivity and secure version compliance.
  • Troubleshoot network failures and identify network issues.
  • Perform network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and support.
  • Maintain network diagrams and other network documentation.
  • Provide configuration, troubleshooting, and problem resolution support.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues within a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multiple technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to team members when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR four additional years of relevant experience in addition to the required years of experience.
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco firewalls.
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco routers.
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco switches.
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN.
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco administration.
  • 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure utilizing technologies including Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with monitoring and tracing tools.
  • 10+ years of experience in core network architecture.
  • 10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching.
  • 4+ years of experience with wireless networks.
  • 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP.
