About the Position

Responsible for applying advanced knowledge and experience in network operations and administration to support and maintain organizational network systems; work closely with internal teams and external service providers; troubleshoot and manage network and communication devices, as well as connections of moderate complexity across assigned areas. The role focuses on both hardware and software components of network operations, supporting multiple platforms within LAN and WAN environments; monitor network usage, capacity, and performance; recommend improvements and implement approved enhancements; responsible for installing, configuring, and deploying new network and communication equipment and software as needed; ensure effective network security and reliable backup systems is a key component of this role; provide technical guidance to entry-level staff and is expected to work independently, often contributing significantly to large projects or system enhancements; coordinate support for specialized departmental systems such as medical X-ray equipment, dental imaging systems, pharmacy servers and workstations, fuel dispensing systems, and key management systems; coordinate and oversee the work of external vendors providing network-related services; maintain accurate documentation of all network resources; provide technical support to the South Mississippi Regional Center in the standardization and modernization of hardware and software systems.
