Network Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Orlando, FL. The work schedule is 4 days Monday -Thursday (10-hour shift).

Summary: We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support the administration, optimization, and modernization of enterprise network infrastructure. This role will focus on maintaining high availability, performance, and security across a complex environment, while contributing to data center and software-defined networking initiatives.

Key Responsibilities: Network Operations & Support:

• Administer and support day-to-day network operations across LAN/WAN environments
• Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, VPN, firewall, and connectivity issues
• Support patching, upgrades, and configuration management of network devices

Infrastructure & Engineering:

• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Support network segmentation, access controls, and firewall rule management
• Assist with implementation of wireless and remote access solutions
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation

Data Center & SDN:

• Support deployment and management of software-defined networking (SDN) solutions
• Work with data center technologies including hyperconverged and virtualized platforms
• Assist with integration of network infrastructure into broader enterprise systems
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades and modernization efforts

Advanced Networking (Preferred Focus):

• Support or contribute to Cisco ACI environments and policy-based networking
• Assist with hyperconverged infrastructure platforms (e.g., VxRail or similar)
• Help design and maintain scalable, flexible network architectures

Security & Collaboration:

• Implement and maintain network security best practices
• Support VPN access, segmentation, and compliance requirements
