The role supports connectivity, stability, availability, and performance across Paradies Lagardère's infrastructure while following established standards, escalation paths, and change control processes. The Level 2 Network Engineer also serves as a technical resource for mentoring Level 1 engineers and improving operational documentation and monitoring.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resolve Tier 2 network incidents across multiple locations, including complex LAN/WAN, wireless, and VPN-related issues.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting using structured methods (packet analysis, path testing, performance validation, root cause identification).
  • Manage and support network monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., FortiManager, PRTG) including alert tuning and operational improvements.
  • Independently configure, deploy, and maintain Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points based on approved standards and templates.
  • Support SD-WAN troubleshooting and circuit failover validation across retail and corporate environments.
  • Support FortiNAC operations by assisting with device onboarding, endpoint profiling, and troubleshooting access issues, including coordination with FortiGate/FortiSwitch/FortiAP policies to ensure compliant network connectivity across corporate and retail environments.
  • Partner with vendors and service providers to coordinate troubleshooting, dispatches, circuit turn-ups, and issue resolution.
  • Support network projects including store openings, refresh initiatives, circuit migrations, and network modernization activities.
  • Maintain and improve network documentation including diagrams, device inventory, configuration standards, and SOPs.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and execute approved changes with proper validation and documentation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Level 1 engineers, including escalation coaching and troubleshooting support.
  • Assist in identifying recurring issues and recommend proactive improvements to reduce outages and improve stability.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, and wireless concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting multi-site networks and resolving issues involving ISP handoffs, edge devices, and upstream dependencies.
  • Working knowledge of firewall concepts including policies, NAT, VPN fundamentals, and security best practices.
  • Working knowledge of FortiNAC concepts including endpoint profiling, network visibility, and policy-based access control for wired and wireless devices, with the ability to support onboarding and troubleshooting under established standards.
  • Ability to document technical work clearly and provide detailed ticket updates, root cause notes, and change outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field teams, vendors, and internal IT teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and service-impacting incidents.
  • Ability to travel to retail locations as needed (optional/occasional based on business needs).
  • Ability to participate in after-hours/on-call support as scheduled.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in an IT networking or network support role.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or retail environments preferred.
  • Strong exposure to Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiNAC) or similar enterprise networking platforms.
  • Professional certifications preferred (two or more): CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE certifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
