What you'll do:We are seeking a Network Engineer to deliver network and on-prem operational readiness for new and existing facilities, sites and data centers. This role will manage end‑to‑end infrastructure implementation including routing, switching, wireless, circuits, cabling, and onsite vendor coordination. The ideal candidate combines strong networking experience with practical layer 1 knowledge of cabling, building infrastructure, fiber plants, racks, patch panels, power and general IT infrastructure. This role requires excellent management, communication skills, and the ability to deliver reliable office networks that meet performance, security, and scalability needs.
This is a site‑based role, employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five‑day workweek.
The day-to-day:
Manage end-to-end hardware procurement, inventory, configuration, and deployment for office build‑outs and expansions.
Participate in IT infrastructure coordination with other business organizations for specific phases of the projects including planning, scheduling, and execution.
Oversee cabling vendors, low‑voltage contractors, and ISPs to ensure high‑quality and timely delivery of services.
Implement and support network technologies including switching, routing, wireless, and firewalls.
Validate circuit delivery, test network performance, and ensure readiness for production use.
Maintain documentation including network diagrams, IP schemas, and infrastructure standards.
Work within the network team and cross‑functional teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
Troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues and provide ongoing operational support.

This position is site-based. Site‑based employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five‑day work week. While this means employees are mostly and consistently onsite, Viasat embraces a flexible work environment. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.
