Network Engineer 3

Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

DPP is seeking a Network Engineer 3 for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
 
Work location: Onsite in San Diego, CA
Schedule: 8:00AM-5:00PM (9x80 A)
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 contract
Work authorization: US Citizen; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance level 

Position summary:

• The Network Engineer 3 will support various programs within the Connectivity and Networked Solutions (CNS) Business Unit (BU).
• As a member of the CNS BU department, you’ll get to support engineering efforts towards network operations and security.

Responsibilities:

• Design and plan network communication systems.
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Conduct testing of network design.
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Required qualifications:

• 5 Years with Bachelor’s in Science in a STEM field OR 3 Years with Master's in a STEM field OR 1 Year with PhD in a STEM field
• CompTIA Network+ or similar certification
• Experience with Juniper, SDWAN, and Cisco Routers and Switches
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance level.

Preferred qualifications:

• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• CCNA Certification
