Responsibilities
The Network Communications Engineer 1 is responsible for foundational monitoring, basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, documentation, and first-line support of Community Medical Center's LAN/WAN/MAN/WLAN environment. Working under the guidance of the Network Team Leader and senior engineers, the incumbent handles day-to-day operational tasks, responds to service requests, escalates complex issues, and supports the reliability of network services critical to clinical care and hospital operations. This entry-to-junior-level role emphasizes learning, adherence to established procedures, and contribution to team goals while building expertise in healthcare networking.
Qualifications
Educationo Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field requiredo Bachelor's Degree preferredo Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement. Experienceo 3 years of IT support, help desk, network administration, or related role requiredo Hands-on experience with network hardware, basic configuration, or troubleshooting required o Prior work in healthcare, hospital, or high-availability environments preferredo Exposure to clinical systems, medical device connectivity, or VoIP preferred Licenses and Certificationso CompTIA Network+ preferredo Cisco CCNA (or equivalent vendor certification) preferredo ITIL Foundation (desirable for service management) preferred
