Description AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.The position's responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.You will leverage your experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of AWS' vast network infrastructure, Network Deploy Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ poundsAbility to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as neededWorking in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environmentsBending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a dayAscending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitationKey Job Responsibilities Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projectsCollaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstaclesTroubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cordsSpecifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipmentParticipating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardwareTraveling within and outside of regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided.A Day in the Life Providing the first level networking devices to serve our customer racks entails various tasks: you will track network rack intake and delivery; work with various onsite teams to request for rack space, power, and cooling for network racks and partner with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready. You'll also be working on link and device troubleshooting within a certain Service‑Level Agreement.There is also console builds (and room builds) that are really exciting. You'll be exposed to more teams whose goal is to provide more space and capacity for customer racks.Work with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer networking experience1+ years of Linux operating systems experienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldExperience in computer networkingExperience working with Linux operating systemsCan lift and rack equipment up to 40 poundsExperience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repairPreferred Qualifications Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelinesExperience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressureExperience managing work and priorities through a ticketing systemExperience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologiesExperience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+) or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering)Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools), or experience in managing and troubleshooting networkKnowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IPAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.The base salary range for this position is listed below.
