The NET Supervisor is the primary point of contact for management oversight of individuals whose primary goal is qualification and certification to programs that support operations within a nuclear facility. Reporting directly to the NET Academy First Line Manager in the Weapon Mission Services New Employee Training and Workforce Development Group (WMS-1), the chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the ALDWP training program vision is executed with precision and quality by providing day-to-day oversight to individuals on associated training plans.

The successful candidate will be a results-oriented individual with a passion for instilling strong work ethic and a culture of excellence in others. As a member of the WMS-1 management team, the NET Supervisor is responsible for promoting safety, security, and quality in all operations, fostering teamwork within the group, and demonstrating effective leadership that promotes a positive, collaborative work environment to early-career individuals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing effective guidance and leadership to a large, diverse group of people with a variety of professional backgrounds.
  • Fostering a cohesive team atmosphere in the direct oversight of individuals, across peer supervisors, and FLMs within the group.
  • Ensuring team deliverables and commitments are met with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and implementing protocol and processes that effectively bring personnel up to speed within the ALDWP directorate.
  • Identifying process improvements and solutions to promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Implementing methods for effective metrics collection and data reporting.
  • Managing resource allocation and being well-organized in developing and managing multiple complex, overlapping schedules.

While the posted salary range for this position is broad, it is highly unusual for selected applicants to be hired at the top end of the range and more common for selected candidates to grow into the full salary band over time.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements: Applicants must submit a comprehensive cover letter and resume reflective of relevant experience that addresses the minimum job requirements and desired qualifications of the position below for full consideration.
  • Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
  • DOE Order 426.2A Requirements: Requires a High School Diploma and 3 years' nuclear experience.
    • Full-time related academic training (e.g., degree programs, trade schools, vocational programs, etc.) may be substituted on a one-for-one basis for up to 2 years of nuclear experience.
  • Leadership:
    • Well-developed leadership skills, including successful experience in supervising, negotiations, conflict resolution, mentoring, team building, employee motivation, and/or personnel development.
    • Proven experience providing oversight for the activities of a multidisciplinary team of technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Knowledge and Expertise:
    • Demonstrated experience in performance and/or oversight of one or more of the following areas:
      • Onboarding/Initial Training
      • Conduct of Training
      • Programmatic Training
      • Nuclear Facility Training
      • Non-Nuclear Facility Training in a Manufacturing Environment
    • Demonstrated experience managing daily logistics and developing/implementing service support schedules for both small and large target audiences.
    • Experience executing work in compliance with defined regulations and requirements, such as DOE O 426.2, NAP-24A, or LANL policies.
  • Accountability:
    • Experience working with confidential or proprietary information, classified documents, or sensitive information.
    • Ability to define work and oversee the execution of tasks in alignment with organizational objectives, including detailed tracking, regular reporting on progress, and accountability for meeting commitments.
  • Communication:
    • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills as evidenced by excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to foster positive teamwork in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Qualifications We Desire:
  • Knowledge of Laboratory new hire orientation processes and institutional training services.
  • Familiarity with Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Training, Conduct of Engineering, and Conduct of Maintenance as they apply to manufacturing facility environments.
  • Prior experience managing business operations in a customer service environment.
  • An active DOE Q-level clearance.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2: Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

DOE Order 426.2A: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2A, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
