Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our Level III NICU team in Shreveport, LA. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative group of neonatal providers dedicated to delivering exceptional care to critically ill and premature newborns.

The ideal candidate will have prior NICU experience and be comfortable managing high-acuity neonatal patients in both independent and team-based settings. This role includes a rotating schedule of days, nights, and weekends, providing comprehensive coverage for the NICU service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced neonatal care for patients in a Level III NICU
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill and premature newborns
  • Participate in delivery attendance, including high-risk deliveries and C-sections
  • Perform neonatal assessments, stabilization, and ongoing management
  • Collaborate closely with neonatologists and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Respond to urgent and emergent neonatal situations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
  • Provide education and support to families throughout the NICU stay

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
  • National certification as an NNP
  • Previous NICU experience required
  • Candidates with prior NICU nursing experience may be considered depending on overall background and training
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to function independently in high-acuity situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
