Job Summary:

The NICU Manager oversees daily operations of the unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care. This leadership role is responsible for staffing, clinical quality, patient safety, and staff development while promoting evidence-based practices and achieving optimal patient outcomes. The Manager plays a key role in fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence in patient experience.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations and staffing of the NICU
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care and adherence to standards
Monitor and evaluate clinical performance, outcomes, and quality metrics
Promote evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and care delivery
Manage admissions, discharges, and patient throughput efficiently
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration across departments
Assign staff based on clinical competencies and patient care needs
Drive patient satisfaction initiatives and service excellence
Analyze feedback and implement strategies to improve patient experience
Support benchmark achievement, accreditations, and regulatory compliance
Maintain proper equipment management and regulatory adherence
Identify staff development needs and lead training initiatives
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and teamwork

Requirements:

BSN required
3-5+ years of healthcare experience required
Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in acute care
NICU experience required; will consider strong Charge RN or CNC NICU candidates
Active RN license (Texas or compact); Texas RN required within specified timeframe
BLS required
ACLS preferred
Specialty certification required within 6 months of hire
NRP preferred
Additional preferred certifications: FHM, RNC-OB (if applicable)

Schedule:

Full-time
Evening shift: typically 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Option for 5x8s or potential 4x10s (flexibility available)
