Job Summary:

The NICU Manager oversees daily operations of the unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care. This leadership role is responsible for staffing, clinical quality, patient safety, and staff development while promoting evidence-based practices and achieving optimal patient outcomes. The Manager plays a key role in fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence in patient experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations and staffing of the NICU
  • Ensure high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care and adherence to standards
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical performance, outcomes, and quality metrics
  • Promote evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and care delivery
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient throughput efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration across departments
  • Assign staff based on clinical competencies and patient care needs
  • Drive patient satisfaction initiatives and service excellence
  • Analyze feedback and implement strategies to improve patient experience
  • Support benchmark achievement, accreditations, and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain proper equipment management and regulatory adherence
  • Identify staff development needs and lead training initiatives
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and teamwork
Requirements:
  • BSN required
  • 3-5+ years of healthcare experience required
  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in acute care
  • NICU experience required; will consider strong Charge RN or CNC NICU candidates
  • Active RN license (Texas or compact); Texas RN required within specified timeframe
  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
  • Specialty certification required within 6 months of hire
  • NRP preferred
  • Additional preferred certifications: FHM, RNC-OB (if applicable)
Schedule:
  • Full-time
  • Evening shift: typically 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Option for 5x8s or potential 4x10s (flexibility available)

  • Acute care hospital
  • 360+ bed facility
