This opening is for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Manager based in Austin, TX. The position is based at a multi-specialty hospital with more than 360 beds that is home to a dedicated children's hospital, a women's center featuring a Level III NICU, a kidney transplant center, and a robotic surgery institute, alongside 24-hour emergency, heart and vascular, neurosurgery, and inpatient/outpatient surgical services.

The role. The NICU Manager is responsible for the overall daily function, staffing, and clinical outcomes of the unit, ensuring nursing care is delivered in accordance with established standards and evidence-based practices. This leader manages admissions and discharge processes to support efficient patient throughput, facilitates interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments, and ensures staff are assigned according to clinical competency and patient care needs. The Manager actively monitors performance benchmarks and accreditation standards, works to reduce unnecessary variation in clinical practice, and collaborates with other clinical leaders to sustain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Individual and team development is also a key responsibility, with the Manager identifying training opportunities and supporting staff growth. Strong candidates from a charge nurse or clinical nurse coordinator background within a NICU setting will be considered.

What we're looking for.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice or an active compact license in accordance with law and regulation; compact license holders from a state other than Texas must apply for a Texas RN license within 60 days of hire and obtain the Texas RN license within 6 months of that application
  • Specialty certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
  • RNC-OB certification preferred

Schedule. Full-time, evening shift, Monday through Friday approximately 2:00 PM–10:00 PM (five days per week), with potential flexibility to a four-day, ten-hour schedule.

Compensation. $150,000 - $150,000 per year plus $15,000 sign-on bonus
