A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Manager — Evenings opportunity is available in Austin, TX at a multi-specialty hospital with more than 360 beds, home to a Level III NICU.

The role. Reporting within nursing leadership, this manager oversees the daily function, staffing, and clinical outcomes of the NICU, holding staff accountable to quality standards and evidence-based practices that enhance patient safety. The manager drives efficient patient throughput by overseeing admissions and discharge processes, while facilitating interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments to ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are matched to patient care needs. A key focus of the role is identifying individual and team development opportunities, reducing clinical practice variation, and supporting the achievement of internal and external benchmarks. The manager also reviews patient and customer feedback mechanisms to identify and act on opportunities that improve satisfaction and care delivery.

What we're looking for.
  • BSN required
  • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare
  • Minimum 2+ years in a supervisory role in an acute care setting
  • Specialty Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation — full-time, part-time, and PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must: apply for Texas RN license within 60 days from hire / obtain current TX RN license within 6 months of application for TX RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • ACLS preferred
  • NRP preferred; FHM preferred; RNC-OB preferred
  • Will consider Charge RN or CNC NICU RNs

Schedule. Full-time evening shift, Monday–Friday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM with some scheduling flexibility, including potential for four 10-hour shifts per week.

Compensation. $150,000 - $150,000 per year plus $15,000 sign-on bonus
