STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced NDT Level II Inspector to support aviation maintenance operations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is critical to ensuring aircraft components meet strict regulatory, quality, and safety standards through accurate non destructive testing and inspection.

If you are certified, detail driven, and comfortable working in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment, this is a strong opportunity to take ownership of NDT operations and play a leadership role within the inspection team.

Position Summary

The NDT Level II Inspector is responsible for performing and overseeing non destructive testing on aircraft components to ensure compliance with approved technical data, component manuals, and regulatory requirements. This role includes inspection execution, documentation, technician oversight, equipment management, and coordination of daily NDT workflow.

The position reports directly to the Chief Inspector and supports quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across the repair station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee non destructive inspections using PT, MT, UT, and ET methods on aircraft components
  • Interpret inspection results against applicable codes, standards, and specifications
  • Disposition parts based on inspection findings in accordance with approved data
  • Train, mentor, and provide OJT to NDT Level I personnel
  • Support certification and qualification of NDT technicians per company and regulatory requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and control NDT procedures and documentation for review by offsite Level III
  • Ensure all NDT records are accurate, complete, and audit ready
  • Act as In Process Inspector when required to verify inspection quality
  • Coordinate daily shop workflow, task assignments, and resource allocation
  • Monitor inspection quality and compliance across all assigned work
  • Manage NDT equipment calibration, maintenance, and procurement needs
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to NDT processes and efficiency
  • Promote a safe, compliant, and quality driven work environment
  • Participate in technician hiring and onboarding activities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • NAS 410 or SNT TC 1A Level II certification in Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant inspection
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant NDT experience, preferably within an FAA Part 145 repair station or aerospace environment
  • Demonstrated ability to set up, standardize, and operate NDT equipment
  • Ability to conduct inspections, interpret results, and document findings in accordance with approved procedures
  • Thorough understanding of the scope and limitations of qualified NDT methods
  • Experience preparing parts before and after inspection as required
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory documents
  • Eligible for FAA Repairman Certificate with NDT rating
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Level II certifications in UT and ET
  • Level III certification experience or exposure
  • Experience leading or coordinating NDT operations
  • Aerospace component inspection background

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and inspection equipment

  • Airworthiness Directives and ATA Spec 300
  • PMA Parts and Repair Station Standard Terminology
  • Additional training as assigned
  • 90 Day probationary OJT period
