NDT Inspector Conducts Liquid Penetrant Testing using specific techniques on aerospace products. Uses knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, equipment set-up, and NDT methods to process parts for inspection following specific operating procedures. Interprets and evaluates test results. This position will utilize LP NDT Testing only.Duties & Responsibilities:Review routers, procedures, specifications, drawings and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operationProcess part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions to evaluate for machining, cold forming, and/or casting discontinuities exceeding requirements specifiedSet-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on NDT (Liquid Penetrant Test) equipment by following established instructions and record resultsInterpret, evaluate, and report evaluation results as required and outlinedFill out required logs and statistical data sheets as requiredClean equipment and ensures it is working properly, and clean and maintain work area as neededMaintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures, specifications, etc.)Maintain work area, equipment, and all documents/records to be audit ready at all timesProvide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to Level I NDT Inspectors, trainees and fellow Level II NDT Inspectors, as neededPerforms the above and other assigned duties in a safe, quality focused mannerMay also be required to complete final inspections in other departments once training is completed.Assist in other departments as needed and directed by department manager.Qualifications / Requirements:Currently or previously certified to NDT Level II in Liquid Penetrant Testing.Must have documented hours for Training & Experience Level II Liquid penetrant: Minimum 32 Hrs classroom training & Minimum 400 Hrs experienceMinimum 18 months of continuous manufacturing experience as a certified Level II in Liquid Penetrant Testing.Able to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as requiredAble to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, light meters and calipersDemonstrates performance appropriate to an advanced positionSuccessfully pass vision screenAbility to speak, read and write EnglishMust be a US citizen or a current green card holderWorking Conditions:Some overtime may be necessaryAbility to regularly and frequently lift 50 poundsWill be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, carrying light and heavy loads, and climbing stairs and ladders. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipmentThe essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, and to walk for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others in the office. Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve items. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Writing to complete reports and service requests. Occasionally Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs.Must be able to wear safety PPE equipment, as required.
