The Building A Coordinator supports daily manufacturing operations by maintaining performance boards and reporting, coordinating training and skills development, driving continuous improvement activities, and serving as a liaison between production leadership and support teams. This role helps ensure that Building A meets safety, quality, delivery, cost, and improvement objectives through accurate communication, follow-up, and execution. Supports the operation to ensure accurate, complete and on-time delivery.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Wood building safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics.
  • Update boards, systems and reports including graphs with accurate performance data.
  • Use lean tools like PKs, SW audits and root cause analysis to problem solve performance issues.
  • Perform 5S and safety walks weekly and coordinate improvements to meet compliance requirements.
  • Update, maintain training matrices and coordinate training for team members.
  • Gather and encourage 2SL ideas from team members and assist with implementation.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to assess effectiveness of training and compliance with standards.
  • May perform 8-point inspections, quality standard work audits.
  • Ensure MPU, TQM and HRXHR metrics are tracked and validated.
  • Manage daily schedule and drop reports to support daily operational planning.
  • Monitor daily production status, prioritize work movement and communicate schedule changes or constraints.
  • Coordinate the flow of production from Wood building to Finishing department for on-time shipping.
  • Serves as a liaison between Wood building and support teams, like engineering, maintenance, CI, safety, etc.
  • Partner with training, CI and engineering to fully implement process changes or standard work changes.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing or production support environment with administrative duties
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain boards, reports and training records
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with production, leadership, management and support team.
  • Proficiency in computers, basic reporting and Microsoft Office tools
  • Proficiency with databases and other software or applications.
  • Ability to generate graphs, visual aids and presentations.
  • Use of tape measure or calipers is a plus.
