J-Bear Child Development Center is seeking a caring, energetic NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher who is passionate about helping children grow through meaningful learning experiences.
Working alongside the Lead Teacher, you'll help create a classroom where every child feels safe, supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher, you'll support the Lead Teacher in implementing engaging classroom activities, maintaining a safe learning environment, and helping children reach important developmental milestones.
Your support helps create a positive classroom experience where every child can learn, explore, and thrive.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist with implementing daily classroom activities and lesson plans
- Support children's learning through hands-on activities and positive interactions
- Provide active supervision throughout the day
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
- Support daily routines including meals, rest time, and transitions
- Encourage positive behavior through nurturing guidance
- Assist with classroom observations and documentation
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Help maintain compliance with NC Pre-K and licensing standards

Qualifications
Required:
- Must meet North Carolina NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher qualifications
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education OR
- Child Development Associate (CDA) with willingness to complete additional NC Pre-K requirements, as applicable
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Must successfully complete all required background screenings
