Natural Gas/Fuels Portfolio Analyst
Are you a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with and analyzing complex data? Do you have experience working with energy commodities (preferably, natural gas/fuels)? As a Natural Gas/Fuels Portfolio Analyst, you will support our Front Office Trading, Middle Office Risk, and Back Office Settlements teams through providing fundamental and technical analyses and research of commodity markets; evaluation of our supply portfolio and asset position in relation to the greater regional market; and recommendation of trading strategies and optimization opportunities. The primary focus of this role will be on natural gas (spot and forward, physical, and financial), coal, diesel, and propane markets. The work that you do will contribute to our mission of supplying safe, reliable energy to our community and in achieving our Sustainable Energy Plan.
Please note the potential working schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally, there''''s an expectation to participate in a rotating weekly on-call responsibilities with natural gas trading and scheduling staff upon completion of probation (six months).

Bachelor''''s degree in either a business-related field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Accounting), Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Engineering, or Information Technology
A Master''''s degree in a quantitative field is valued
Hands-on work experience in energy commodities (e.g., natural gas, power, oil) is valued
Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g., portfolio management, valuation, opportunity costs) and electric and gas utility operations is valued
Experience using ETRM systems, analytical software products, and/or coding languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, VBA) is valued
Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Effective written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills and the ability to listen and respond effectively and influence others
