Overview The National Account Manager will be responsible for developing relationships and opportunities at the facility level of Fortune 500 and larger organizations. The individual will be responsible for the operations of active assigned accounts and contacting potential future customers.
Responsibilities Summary of essential job functions:
Providing daily/weekly touches to client contacts via phone, email, etc. to solicit opportunities. Actively accepting tenders, managing spot opportunities. Ensuring that day-to-day activities of assigned team are meeting the needs of the customer. Monitoring overall service levels/metrics for assigned customers. Guiding assigned employees and ensuring they have adequate training and development. Working with Rate Department and Margin Department to develop shipper/carrier rates. Participating in customer service account reviews with assigned accounts, including metrics reporting as requested. Developing strategies to achieve market share goals for assigned accounts. Ensuring the profit objective for the accounts are satisfied. Networking within assigned accounts to build relationships with new contacts and identify growth opportunities. Working with Capacity Managers to identify lanes that require carrier recruitment. Working with other Account Managers to create packages of lanes that will keep carriers within the PLS network. Owning the relationship and doing all necessary tasks to make the clients/division profitable and successful.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent • Strong customer service skills • Strong negotiating skills • Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry
