This is a grant funded, 20 hour part time employee position contingent on continued funding from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS). The Prevention Specialist reports directly to the Project Director and is responsible for assisting with project implementation and evaluation. A successful candidate must be capable of prioritizing activities, meeting goals and objectives in a timely fashion, and managing a significant amount of project detail. Essential roles, responsibilities and activities of the Prevention Specialist: Implement the Strategic Prevention Framework, a public health framework to identify needs, implement evidence-based prevention activities, and evaluate activities appropriate for universal populations in Davidson County.
Working with data analyst to assess success of programming for adjustment purposes to ensure success of implementation activities. Coordinating education initiatives outlined in the required activities and implementation plan Within the first year of employment, obtain the Coalition Prevention Specialist certificate from the Tennessee Certification Board.
