Position Overview
Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered Introduction to Nail Technology Instructor to facilitate a short-format after-school enrichment course for middle and/or high school students. This course is designed to introduce learners to foundational nail care concepts and salon-adjacent professional practices through age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences, creativity-focused design activities, and career exploration in cosmetology pathways.
This is an exploratory program and is not a licensure course. Instruction should emphasize safety, hygiene, professionalism, and non-invasive practice aligned with school-based expectations and site policies. The instructor will deliver instruction one day per week for approximately one hour across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student needs and site logistics.
What You Will Teach
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of nail care, design, and professional grooming techniques as an entry point into cosmetology and beauty-industry pathways. Students explore nail anatomy, hygiene and sanitation, basic nail care procedures, introductory nail art, and professional client communication.
Instruction should be interactive, practical, and appropriate for a middle or high school setting, with clear expectations around sanitation and respectful, professional learning environments.

Hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols (school-appropriate, non-invasive)
Manicuring and pedicuring fundamentals (mock/simulated practice as needed)

Key Responsibilities
Deliver a 10-session after-school course with clear objectives and engaging instruction
Facilitate hands-on, creative activities while maintaining strong sanitation routines and safety expectations
Maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that is appropriate for a school setting
Communicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and session completion
Adapt pacing and activities to match student readiness while maintaining program outcomes
Support students in completing a culminating artifact that documents learning and skill development
Qualifications (Required)
Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
Relevant content knowledge in nail technology, cosmetology, or related professional practice
Interest and/or experience working with school-age students in structured learning environments
Strong facilitation, communication, and classroom presence
Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries
Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful environment with age-appropriate instruction and materials
