TITLE: Assistant Musical/Theatrical Production Adviser
STIPEND: $600
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal, the Middle School Assistant Musical/Theatrical Production Advisor supports the planning, organization, and implementation of the school's drama and musical theater program. This position works collaboratively with the Musical/Theatrical Director and the Choral/Music Director to assist students and staff in preparing for and presenting at least one major theatrical or musical production during the school year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with the coordination and supervision of rehearsals, performances, and production activities for at least one major theatrical or musical production annually
- Collaborating closely with the Musical/Theatrical Director and Choral/Music Director to support all aspects of the production process
- Supporting students in areas such as performance preparation, stage movement, backstage responsibilities, and production expectations
- Assisting with costumes, props, sets, scene changes, makeup, lighting, sound, and other production needs as assigned
- Supervising students during rehearsals, performances, and related events
- Helping coordinate schedules, communication, and logistics with students, families, staff, and administration
- Assisting with event setup, cleanup, and maintaining organization of production materials and spaces
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, positive, and collaborative environment for all participating students
- Supporting student growth in creativity, confidence, teamwork, responsibility, and performance skills
The Assistant Musical/Theatrical Production Advisor should demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, an interest in theater and performing arts education, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and middle school students in a dynamic extracurricular environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current member of the Oxford Education Association.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom.
