Primary Purpose The Multilingual Intervention Specialist provides intervention and/or classroom supports for students that are designated as Emergent Bilinguals by the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) to increase their language proficiency. Multilingual Intervention Specialists work closely with the Emergent Bilingual's classroom teacher to provide support in the classroom and pull select Emergent Bilinguals for additional small group intervention. Staff document all interventions provided to scholars, in addition to fostering a multilingual community amongst the campus.

Reporting Structure This position will report to and be managed by the specified campus administration. This position falls under the Multilingual department, in which: 90% of the assigned duties should be spent directly on instructional support of Emergent Bilinguals. The Multilingual team will provide resources and training throughout the year, this includes but is not limited to the Coordinators of Emergent Bilinguals and the CMO Multilingual management staff.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s) Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B. A./ B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. Master's degree is preferred but not required. Experience Requirements: Applicants should have minimum 2 years teaching experience in subject area. Special Skills/Certifications: Must have a valid Texas Teacher Certification with endorsement in ESL or bilingual education for dual language campuses.

The environment requires proximity to other employees, frequent interruptions, extended periods of time viewing a computer screen, and noise levels from moderate to high. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature. There may be time spent outside to support with campus duties.

Starting Salary: $63,000
