Job Summary
The Multicraft Technician III is responsible for safely completing a wide range of advanced multicraft tasks under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager and must be proficient in mechanical, electrical and facility maintenance in a manufacturing setting. Responsible for assigned preventative maintenance work orders and repairs to electrical systems and mechanical equipment in the plant. Daily requirements will include skills such as fabricating, welding, machining, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. The Maintenance Technician III supports the production of high quality products, with a sense of urgency and accountability for equipment uptime. This employee thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities and is able to make recommendations to improve the overall performance of plant equipment. The Maintenance Technician III will interact and communicate effectively with all GAF employees with a positive, customer focused attitude.
Essential Duties
Advanced knowledge of vibration analysis.
Advanced knowledge of infrared thermography and ultrasound analysis.
Advanced knowledge of job plans for lubrication, vibration analysis, infrared thermography and ultrasound.
Maintains proper lube storage, including 5S standard of storage location.
Develops the preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.
Qualifications Required
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
5+ years working experience in an industrial maintenance manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
Competent with the use of Personal Computers, with sound understanding and utilization of Google APPS, and MAXIMO/CMMS Asset Management Software.
Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, instrument, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, controls, and Utility equipment.
AC/DC motor repair/replacement for single phase, and 3-phase power.
Maintenance tools used while working on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and Utility systems.
Sound knowledge of instrument/electrical/control/communication principles.
Repair/replace instruments and electrical devices.
Fabrication with metal and the welding process using oxy acetylene, MIG, TIG, & arc welding tools.
Pump & fan theory, repair, & replacement.
Instrument/electrical components & how they work/communicate.
Capable of using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and related measuring equipment.
Comprehension and use of technical manuals.
Strong understanding of the mechanical, instrument, electrical, utilities, and control system architecture.
Understands how PLC controllers function to control the process.
Understands the Operator Interface's role in controlling the process.
Use of SPC (statistical process control) charts, graphs, and data for increased reliability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work under limited supervision, and self-motivated.
Excellent organization skills.
Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
Base Hourly Rate: $46.87
