Here's the Role:

We are seeking a skilled technician for our peaking power plant team! This position consists of initial operations and long-term care for 20 Wartsila 18V50SG Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines and their auxiliary systems. Take the lead in the development and sustaining reliable operations and maintenance of this new power plant. How You’ll Contribute:
  • Foster effective communication between contractors, engineers, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with construction team to identify and resolve issues.
  • Use basic digital literacy for communications, training, and administrative duties.
  • Leverage multi-craft expertise in mechanics, electrical systems, and I&C to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Operate engineered systems for power production.
How You’re Qualified:
  • Driver's license
  • Positions located in Generation power plants:
  • Six or more years of experience in power plant operations or power plant maintenance, or other relevant experience, including two or more years in the craft discipline in the assigned area of specialty.
  • Positions located at Smithville Railcar Facility:
  • Six or more years of experience in industrial maintenance or fabrication, or other relevant experience, including two or more years in the craft discipline in the assigned area of specialty.
  • Positions located in Dam & Hydro power plants:
  • Six or more years of experience in dam & hydro power plant operations or dam & hydro power plant maintenance, or other relevant experience, including two or more years in the craft discipline in the assigned area of specialty.
How You’ll Stand Out:
  • Adhere to safety, environmental, and operational protocols.
  • Experience operating or maintaining reciprocating internal combustion engines.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and/or instrument and controls for power plant systems.
  • Proficient in power plant operations, maintenance principles and industry standards.
