Location: Hope Hospice Center
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM(Day Shift)
Schedule: Dayshift | .9 FTE (36hrs/week guaranteed)
This shift will primarily be based in our inpatient unit, with the potential to support in-home hospice visits as census demands.
Essential Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Symptom Management
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients, with a focus on comfort and symptom management.
- Administer medications and interventions per physician orders.
- Continuously assess patient needs and ensure a dignified, comfortable end-of-life experience.
Supervision & Delegation to CNAs
- Provide guidance and oversight to non-unionized CNAs to ensure quality personal care and adherence to patient care plans.
- Delegate appropriate nursing support tasks (ADLs, hygiene, mobility) while ensuring safety and compassion.
- Monitor CNA documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Offer real-time feedback and mentorship in a respectful, team-oriented environment.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) rounds.
- Contribute to care planning, symptom management strategies, and family education.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals for holistic patient care.
Family & Caregiver Support
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and education to families and caregivers.
- Help them navigate the physical and emotional challenges of end-of-life care.
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and communications.
- Ensure all care aligns with regulatory and quality standards.
Infection Control & Safety
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
Qualifications:
Required
- Current RN license (Compact or Montana)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg
- Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment (for RNs)
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
