Job Description

Summary:

The MRO Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the MRO Production area. This role ensures that maintenance, repair and overhaul tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with aviation standards (ex FAA). The Supervisor manages personnel, coordinates workflow and ensures adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requires direct supervision of MRO Production and technicians to accomplish business objectives.
  • Schedules daily shop orders and ensure timely completion to meet production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA and other regulatory and safety standards.
  • Assures policies, procedures, regulations and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant repair & overhauled product.
  • Proactively implements, promotes and maintains a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, and equipment maintenance and rule enforcement.
  • Leads, facilitates and coordinates production activities and resources per established practices and/or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Aligns workforce to company vision and goals.
  • Acts as a business partner by initiating and continuously managing improvements to Repair and Overhaul processes.
  • Fully engages workforce and drives change by empowering employees with decision-making, fostering innovation, and promoting continuous learning.
  • Clearly communicates expectations and consistently holds self and employees accountable for performance. Effectively confronts employee performance and behavioral issues.
  • Motivates and coaches employees and teams to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity and quality.
  • Ensures that employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, information and tools to do their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Coordinates and/or participates on production and continuous improvement teams within own area or other areas to enhance plant results.
  • Drives 6S culture by improving and maintaining the cleanliness, safety and organization of the work area.
  • Actively participates in setting, communicating and achieving department goals and objectives that are tied to QRQC.
  • Develops and maintains performance metrics as required to monitor results and uses as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within their work area.
  • Coordinates and leverages resources with other functions, such as maintenance, materials, scheduling, logistics and engineering, to resolve repair and overhaul problems and/or improve processes.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Planning, CSRs and Logistics to resolve issues and streamline operations.
  • Train and mentor team members, ensuring proper skills development and certification tracking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience -

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Aerospace, Aviation Maintenance or a related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of leadership experience in aircraft and/or component maintenance (repair and overhaul), manufacturing or military background.
  • Basic understanding of 14 CFR Part 43, 65, 121 and 145.
  • Must be willing to become a first aid certified team member.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts and tool sets as they relate to production management.
  • Position requires leadership skills and the ability to motivate a group of employees towards a common goal. Advanced communication skills required for interaction with all levels of plant associates.
  • Microsoft Excel skills or other data processing program to analyze, trend and drive actions based on data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience as an electrical or mechanical technician in an industrial, aviation, or military organization
  • A&P Certificate from an accredited institution.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Must specifically demonstrate the following competencies
  • Developing direct reports, building effective teams, managerial courage, listening, personal learning, customer focus, drive for results, business acumen and problem solving
