Responsibilities/Job Description:
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work on the evening shift, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3PM - 11:30PM with weekends as needed.
*If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus that is prorated based on experience.
The MRI Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).
Responsibilities
- Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Performs individualized, compassionate patient care
- Performs high quality examinations
- Identifies relevant data from images accurately
- Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.
- Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
- Verify patient identification and documentation
- Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
- Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
- Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Radiology Tech
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience
- 1 year experience in a related role
- Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
- Additional certifications in Imaging
- ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 1-1/2 Yrs
Qualifications:
$41.82- $56.63 Hourly
