Position Overview
As a Full Time MRI Technologist, you will perform high-quality MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional imaging quality. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnoses and outstanding patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Prepare and educate patients regarding MRI procedures while addressing questions and concerns
- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications, including implants and medical devices
- Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images
- Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining image quality standards
- Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures to ensure comfort and safety
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation within the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety guidelines, infection prevention protocols, and departmental policies
- Perform routine equipment quality assurance checks and report maintenance concerns
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care during every patient interaction
Education & Certification Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current ARRT certification required
- ARRT (MR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain if applicable
- Current Kansas Radiologic Technologist licensure or eligibility for licensure
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Previous MRI experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating MRI equipment in a hospital or outpatient setting
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic image quality
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care
