Overview
The Assistant District Office Supervisor assists in overseeing the DMV''s Southern Mobile Unit team which consists of 3 Mobile Unit Client Support Specialists.
The Assistant Supervisor will:
This is a working position in which the Assistant will run a customer counter and work with the general public processing license, registration, title, and driver improvement transactions. This position is required to conduct written and road exams as needed. This position is based out of the Springfield DMV office and will travel to a satellite branch office daily; this team staffs the Dummerston and White River Jct mobile unit locations.
The position will work Monday through Friday, 6:45am-5:15pm, with some overtime required.

In accordance with Title 23, Section 102(d), an applicant must agree to be finger-printed and pass a background investigation to be eligible for this position. Environmental Factors
Duties are performed predominately in an office setting; however, exposure to the elements for long periods of time may be required. Private means of travel should be available for occasional travel when appropriate. Incumbents must be adaptable and able to work within tight time limits and under considerable stress. Some evening and weekend duty may be necessary. Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent AND at least four (4) years or more of customer service work experience INCLUDING two (2) years administrative or clerical work.
OR
Two (2) years as an employee with the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles in licensing or registration.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year or more supervisory experience or equivalent training(s).
Prior DMV experience.
Special Requirements
A valid driver''s license is required.
An applicant''s vision must be correctable to 20/40 (Snellen test) in both eyes, with normal color perception and field of vision.
Must possess or acquire a Commercial Learner's Permit within one (6) months of employment.
Must possess or acquire a Class A CDL license with all endorsements, including motorcycle, within one (1) year of employment.
The frequency, recentness, and nature of any court conviction(s) and/or a person''s traffic record may cause disqualification.
