We are hiring a Mortgage Underwriter to review and underwrite residential loan files with a strong focus on loan servicing, loss mitigation, and payment analysis. This role involves working with active loans to assess risk, resolve delinquencies, and support default management strategies.
- Review and underwrite loan modification, forbearance, and loss mitigation files
- Evaluate borrower financials for active loans and determine appropriate servicing solutions
- Monitor payment history and assess risk on delinquent or non-performing loans
- Ensure compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines (FHA, Client, Freddie Mac)
- Collaborate with servicing, collections, and legal teams to resolve loan issues
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the loan lifecycle
- 2+ years of mortgage underwriting or loan servicing experience
- Knowledge of loss mitigation programs, servicing guidelines, and payment processing
- Familiarity with FHA, VA, Client, and Freddie Mac rules
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Experience with LOS and servicing platforms
