GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under general supervision, but following existing policies , procedures and applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, prepares and processes all documents necessary to ensure the timely closing of all assigned conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for reviewing all assigned loan files, following investor program guidelines to ensure all appropriate documentation is complied and submitted in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
  • Regularly reviews and monitors all open assigned loan files maintaining frequent contact with the borrower(s) throughout the loan application, underwriting, and closing process. Follows-up with the appropriate party regarding all missing documentation and helps resolve discrepancies as they occur. Ensures all correspondence is appropriately documented in the mortgage loan tracking system. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
  • Responsible for ordering various required third party vendor documents need for pre-processing activities for new loan files, including but not limited to appraisals, title commitment, tax transcripts, flood determination, verifications of employment, and address verification. This duty is performed

weekly, about 20% of the time.

  • Regularly reviews mortgage loan documentation before submission to the processing area to ensure a complete loan file is submitted. The file is reviewed for proper documentation according to the expectations set forth by the operational department managers including but not limited to accurate completion of the loan application, corresponding income, and asset documentation. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
  • Serves as back up for the Receptionist performing various clerical duties including but not limited to answering incoming calls, directing customers to appropriate individual, meeting and greeting customers, and sorting incoming mail. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
  • Assists the Residential Lending Business Development Coordinator with marketing strategies for assigned Relationship Managers. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
