Job Description
A healthcare professional responsible for continuously monitoring and interpreting patients' cardiac rhythms using specialized equipment, identifying abnormalities, and promptly notifying nurses or physicians of any critical changes in a patient's vital signs, often with a higher level of responsibility and expertise compared to a standard Monitor Technician, including advanced arrhythmia interpretation and complex patient monitoring situations; they play a crucial role in ensuring timely interventions for patients requiring cardiac monitoring in a healthcare setting.
Monitor Technician II- FT (7 positions)
This monitoring technician II is primarily responsible for the continuous ECG monitoring of patient’s cardiac rhythm by responding to all alarms detected; identifying cardiac arrhythmia; reporting significant events; tracking patient activities; documenting abnormalities; and producing cardiac rhythm reports. . The monitoring technician II also assists with patient transport to procedural and/or inpatient areas. The monitor technician II provides cardiac monitoring for patients cared for at Facilitator's Emergency Department.
Qualifications
Education: HS diploma or equivalent education required.
Experience: One year of related experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Cardiac rhythm analysis technician (CRAT) offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred. Cardiac Monitoring course or successfully challenge (if eligible). Must successfully complete Annual Cardiac Monitor Assessment. AHA BLS-HCP required within 60 days of hire.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Must complete Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software preferred.
