Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience shipping products or features that leverage Generative AI, machine learning, or AI-powered agents.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting.
  • 7 years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.
  • Experience in designing and developing conversational AI for voice and text-based interfaces.

About the job

As a Model UX Content Designer, your role is to shape product experiences through a user-centered lens, grounded in a technical understanding of Large Language Models (LLM). Beyond setting the design goals, you advocate a standard of quality while defining the AI persona and crafting systems for seamless, multi-turn human-AI interactions. Success in this position requires close collaboration with researchers, product managers, and engineers to translate user needs into intuitive, AI-driven solutions. By bridging the gap between product requirements and helpful design, you empower users to achieve their goals through sophisticated and strategic content architecture. You will be a thought leader with an understanding of conversational AI, a passion for user-centered design, and a proven track record of shipping successful AI products.The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of intuitive AI driven consumer experiences for AI across Google Health, ensuring natural and efficient interaction.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define product strategy and influence key cross-functional decisions that drive positive user outcomes.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to translate user needs and product requirements into effective conversational designs.
  • Establish the personality, voice, tone, and style conventions for the AI model's responses.
  • Design the conversational experience for a wide range of user interactions and use cases.
