Summary
Responsible for performing routine patient mobility and walking under direct of Nursing staff and/or Rehabilitation Services staff.

Essential Functions
-Mobilizes patients out of bed and walks patients in patient rooms and hallways (per the patient's tolerance) with assistance and mobility devices as needed.

-Assists therapists during therapy sessions.

-Attends and actively participates in team meetings.

-Transfers and transports patients in a safe and timely manner.

-Maintains equipment and working area in clean, orderly condition.

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience working as a Rehab Aide, Patient Care Assistant (PCA), and or CNA with 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Good bedside manner.
- Good physical strength and stamina for lifting and moving immobile patients.

NWH is recruiting for a Mobility Aide to work in the acute care/inpatient setting. The primary function of this role is to assist, support, and promote walking and mobility of hospitalized patients on the hospital's medical/surgical units. The individual in this role with collaborate with Nursing Staff and Rehabilitation Services staff to achieve and perform these tasks.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), with a scheduled of Mon-Fri during the day shift, with some evening hours required on an as needed basis.
