At Quality Equipment, there are opportunities to grow and advance in your career.We are currently looking for a Mobile Service Technician to join us at our Knightdale location.PURPOSE:Performs basic diagnostic, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned compact construction equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Shop Foreman (if applicable) or senior technicians.BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs basic diagnostic and repairs focusing on diesel engines and Compact Construction Equipment.Responsible for the disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and machinesPerforms all service tasks as assigned by the Service ManagerPrepares all forms (detail of work performed on repair orders) required in conjunction with job assignmentsReports any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customerParticipates in all training programs as directed by the Service ManagerAccounts for all time and for all materials used in performing work dutiesMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionReports any issues with shop tools, equipment or vehicles that are in a serviceable condition or are unsafe for useFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsEXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent experience required1+ year(s) of experience performing service repairsAbility to write diagnosis and work completed on routine reports (repair orders)Proficient knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems and/or hydraulic systemsAbility to use personal computer and various types of diagnostic equipmentAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresAbility to speak effectively one-on-one with customersAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesValid driver’s license required for potential driving situationsAbility to operate a forklift, preferredMust possess set of toolsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Weight Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs.Mobility: Squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing, sitting and repetitive keyboarding for long durations of timeVisual: Working with PC, smart devices, and close detailed workDriving: Occasional – Short and long distancesDexterity: Ability to grasp and manipulate standard tools and office equipmentNoise: Medium to HighOur employees receive competitive wages and can participate in the benefits which currently include medical and dental insurance, flexible spending account, life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(K) program with employer match and a company discount.
