Make a real impact-meet people where they are and help change lives.

BBSI is seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and community-driven Mobile Navigator on behalf of our client to support individuals in accessing critical services and resources. This dynamic role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys variety in their workday, and is passionate about helping others navigate complex systems with dignity and care.

As a Mobile Navigator, you won't be tied to a desk-you'll be out in the community, connecting with people in real time, responding to urgent needs, and guiding individuals toward both immediate support and long-term stability. Every day brings new challenges, new locations, and new opportunities to make a meaningful difference.

What You'll Do

In this highly mobile and people-focused role, you will:

  • Travel throughout the community to assist individuals with accessing services and completing paperwork
  • Respond to questions and concerns via phone and in person with professionalism and empathy
  • Quickly assess immediate needs and help individuals identify both short- and long-term goals
  • Verify insurance coverage and determine eligibility in coordination with providers
  • Clearly explain available services and connect clients to appropriate resources
  • Schedule appointments and complete follow-ups to ensure continuity of care
  • Become certified as an OHP Assister and Marketplace-certified enrollment specialist
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to individuals in crisis, including de-escalation when needed
  • Maintain accurate data entry in web portals and tracking systems
  • Attend community events, partner meetings, and public forums as a representative of BBSI's client
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed
  • Complete reimbursement and financial documentation accurately and timely
  • And other duties as assigned in support of the mission

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who brings both heart and skill to the work:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal) with a strong sense of confidentiality
  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and solution-focused in high-stress or escalated situations
  • Strong boundaries, sound judgment, and independent decision-making aligned with agency policy
  • Understanding of poverty, trauma, addiction, and barriers individuals may face
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with databases and spreadsheets
  • Experience with HMIS and Unite Us is a plus
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a mobile role
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to travel regularly

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's degree + 1 year of experience, or
  • High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of relevant experience

All candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in social services or community-based organizations
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist, Community Health Worker, or QMHP
  • Experience in advocacy, outreach, or case navigation
  • Strong problem-solving skills in both crisis and long-term support situations
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members

Position Details

  • Pay: $22.00 - $25.50/hour DOE
  • Type: Full-time, temporary (12 months)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (weekend availability may be required)
  • Work Environment: Approximately 40% office / 60% field-based
  • Mileage reimbursement provided
  • Paid holidays and PTO accrual opportunity

This role may involve extended computer use, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequent travel between sites. Candidates should also be aware of potential exposure to challenging or high-stress situations in community settings.
