Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Operates heavy equipment. Uses the backhoe to dig up broken sewers, broken pavements, water lines, and culverts.

  • Loads dump trucks and sets posts. Provides labor and operates various pieces of small equipment such as pumps, sprayers, compressors, and generators in maintenance tasks of the levee system. These tasks include spraying herbicide along cross fencing, building and repairing fencing (wire), removing debris from the rights of way, repairing and constructing irrigation gates, repairing and constructing buildings, and felling and clearing trees.

  • uses the dozer to backfill ditches, grade roads, grade parking lots, grade areas for buildings, push down trees, and to clear areas.

  • Operates an International 4900 series dump truck with an equipment trailer.

  • Uses the dump truck to haul dirt, gravel, and sand.

  • Pulls flatbed trailers to move equipment, tools, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational

Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
