Mobile Chassis Systems Design Engineer — Dixon, IL

Role Overview

Lead the engineering of custom truck equipment applications, ensuring designs are compatible, efficient, and technically sound. Collaborate deeply with Sales, Engineering, and Production to transform specifications into robust, manufacturable solutions.

Primary Deliverables

• Plan, execute, and manage projects from concept through installation.
• Produce 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and comprehensive install guides.
• Develop chassis layouts and validate weight distribution and integration requirements.
• Create and maintain hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Provide installation support, including detailed technical direction and issue resolution.
• Conduct cross-functional technical reviews to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
• Streamline quoting, design, and installation processes for repeatable results.
• Assist with custom and prototype builds to de-risk new configurations.
• Advance modular/standardized designs to improve throughput and consistency.
• Monitor relevant regulations and technology trends in truck equipment and chassis systems.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or related technical discipline (preferred).
• Experience: 3+ years in heavy equipment or ag machinery design, truck body integration, or applications engineering (required).
• Systems Knowledge: Hydraulics and electrical systems with strong schematic interpretation (required).
• Regulatory: Familiarity with DOT or FMVSS (preferred).
• Software: 3D CAD proficiency (required); SolidWorks (preferred).

Compensation, Type & Schedule

• Pay: $60,000 – $80,000 annually
• Employment Type: Full-time, 1st Shift, On-site
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
