About the Role:

As a CBRE Mobile Building Engineer, you will be crucial for ensuring the optimal functionality and appearance of our medical office and patient facilities across five sites in Long Beach, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, responding to service calls, and performing both preventative and corrective maintenance to uphold a safe and comfortable environment for our patients and staff. This is a highly client-facing position, requiring excellent technical skills and a professional demeanor.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Perform regular onsite inspections to identify and address maintenance needs across multiple facilities.
  • Execute corrective and preventative maintenance tasks on various building systems and infrastructure.
  • Complete work orders efficiently and effectively, prioritizing tasks to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including changing belts, fans, and responding promptly to hot or cold calls.
  • Address plumbing issues such as dripping faucets and leaks.
  • Conduct general maintenance and aesthetic upkeep, including hanging décor, cabinetry installation, and drywall repair.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and work performed.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete the repair and maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Operate company-issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification and Valid Driver's license required. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Mobile Building Engineer position is $75,000 annually [or $36.06 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Mobile Building Engineer position is $79,040 annually [or $38.00 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
