MLT or MT certified: (CA requires CLS) Do they need ASCP (American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science) or AMT (American Medical Technologists)?" "BLS not required. No patient contact. Yes, cert is required. ASCP or AMT" "What areas do they cover? (Hematology/Serology, Chemistry/Coag, Micro, & Blood Bank)" Generalist role covering all areas, including blood bank. No Micro other than gram stains and rapid kit testing. Do they need to be a Generalist? Yes Do they need to perform Phlebotomy? No Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties Must have 2+ years generalist + blood bank LIS System (ie. Polytech, Avalon, Orchard Software, Apollo, Prolis, BioTracer, etc.) EPIC experience preferred EMR/Specific Equipment used in each area?
