Mitigation Project Director / Mitigation Operations Manager

About the Role

We are hiring a Mitigation Project Director / Department Leader to oversee day-to-day mitigation and remediation operations across a busy service area.

This role leads teams responding to water, fire, and environmental damage events, ensuring projects are executed quickly, safely, and in compliance with insurance requirements and industry standards.

You will be responsible for team leadership, job performance, estimating, and operational execution across a high volume of active jobs. This is a fast-paced, high-accountability role that requires strong decision-making, leadership, and the ability to operate in an emergency-driven environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and oversee mitigation and remediation field teams across multiple active jobs
  • Manage hiring, training, and performance of mitigation staff
  • Direct job flow, scheduling, and workload distribution across the team
  • Write, review, and manage estimates using Xactimate and/or Symbility
  • Oversee job costs, revenue, and profitability (WIP, margins, production metrics)
  • Serve as escalation point for customers, adjusters, and trade partners
  • Ensure compliance with IICRC standards (S500, S520, etc.) and safety protocols
  • Maintain equipment readiness and operational standards across mitigation work
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflows, and team performance

What They’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in mitigation, restoration, or emergency services operations
  • Strong experience working with TPA programs (REQUIRED)
  • Proficiency with Xactimate (required); Symbility preferred
  • Experience leading mitigation crews, teams, or departments
  • Strong understanding of insurance-driven restoration workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Certifications such as WRT, ASD, FSRT preferred

  • Fast-paced, emergency-driven work (not a traditional 9–5 role)
  • Combination of office coordination + field oversight
  • Exposure to active job sites and varying conditions
  • Requires strong prioritization and ability to operate in unstructured environments

Compensation & Structure
  • Base Salary: $90K – $120K
  • Bonus: ~30% uncapped tied to production
  • Total Compensation: $130K – $160K+ depending on performance
