This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Purpose of Role:

Reporting to Mine, Project Supervisor, the Mine, Project Laborer I is an entry-level position that will be critical in supporting mining operations on various projects around our Copper World Mine Site. The laborer will be responsible for handling light-duty power tools and hand tools.

The first project - (Fencing Project) will include assisting in the installation and maintenance around our Copper World Mine site. This project will ensure the safety and security of our critical minerals (Copper), equipment, buildings, and most importantly, our employees. The position involves enclosing 4,500+ acres to safety standards.

Installation - measures/marks property lines/post placement, dig holes, sets poles, mixes concrete, installs (terminal post, line post, tension bands, chain link fence, brace bands, eye post, tie downs, top rails, etc.).

Roll Accountabilities:

  • Assist various projects determined by the project supervisor
  • Complete daily tasks issued by the project supervisor
  • Site Maintenance: site preparation, construction, and maintenance of all projects (worksites)
  • Set up and teardown of projects (worksites)
  • Assist with upkeeping of projects: offices/workshop facilities
  • Pioneer, dig trenches, backfill, maintain roads & surface facilities
  • Keep projects free of hazards

Logistics & Support:

  • Load, unload, sort, stack & move materials, tools, supplies, and equipment
  • Tools/Equipment: drills, impact drivers, hammer drill, impact wrench, circular saw, reciprocating saw, angle grinder, nail gun, demolition hammer, etc.
  • Operating light machinery (skid steers, mini-excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, plate compactors, concrete mixers, light towers, etc.)
  • Operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance on hand/power tools and machinery

Safety & Compliance:

  • Must wear PPE (hard hat, steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Install safety barriers, berms, directional flagging, barricades, etc.
  • Assess task hazards and add mitigative controls

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Authorization to work in U.S
  • Must have a clean driving record, role requires you to drive company vehicles (company must be able to insure you)
  • No prior formal experience in Mining or Labor work is required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in fencing installation and maintenance in a plus
  • Previous experience with tape measure, level, digging tools, pliers, cure cutters, fence stretcher, cable grip, piper wrench, hacksaw, pipe cutter, rachet & sockets, drill, impact driver, augers, post pounder, come along winches, etc.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
  • Current MSHA
  • Have reliable personal transportation to the site location (transportation at the site will be in company vehicles)

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds
  • The work environment will involve outside weather conditions such as hot, cold, and/or dry conditions
  • The role requires the physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Chosen candidates will be required to successfully pass a physical and drug screening
