POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for installation of interior and exterior ductile iron, stainless steel, and plastic piping and equipment systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB · Prepare ground for installation of underground piping. · Work with superintendent to layout piping systems and gather required materials. · Cut and align piping for installation. · Connect fused, glued, flanged and mechanical joint piping. · Install process equipment including pumps, tanks, chemical skids, strainers, aeration systems, gates, and screens. · Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. · Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. · Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. · Additional duties as assigned BEHAVIORAL • Able to provide quality work and think logically• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively.• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.• Demonstrate strong decision making and problem-solving skills.• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. QUALIFICATIONS (The training, education and/or experience necessary to fulfill the job)• High School diploma/GED preferred• 1+ years' construction industry experience preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT• Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.• Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.• Able to work in all weather conditions.• The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands.• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.• Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.
