The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Mill Day Supervisor to oversee operations and projects for the #2 Mill Area.

  • Responsible for supervision of personnel and operations including:
  • safety of personnel
  • quality of product
  • production rates
  • enforcement of company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Implement the production plan to assure on time delivery and highest quality standards. Manage reliable and predictable operations. Reduce process variability and improve consistency throughout the department. Motivate the crew to effectively accomplish the tasks at hand while monitoring employee performance and task efficiency. Identify and implement improvements to the manufacturing process. . Ensure SDI/OSHA safety requirements are met and exceeded. Assure the schedule is designed to gain maximum utilization of manpower, equipment, and material on all shifts. Effectively practice Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees. Ability to lead staff to meet production demands

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Ability and desire to improve efficiency and increase capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor.
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and proven leadership skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • 3+ years of production supervisory experience desired.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
