The Brook Hospital KMI is seeking a Milieu Specialist will have responsibility for the development and implementation of the therapeutic milieu within the Acute Psychiatric Services unit. To ensure safety and consistency in treating the patients, the Milieu Specialist will have the responsibility of encouraging the team approach to therapeutic interventions. In consultation with the Nurse Managers, Director of Clinical Services, and the Chief Nursing Officer they will assist the Nurse Supervisors in the monitoring of unit activities and daily duties assigned to the Mental Health Technicians The role of the Milieu Specialist is that of a resource to the members of the interdisciplinary treatment team with a goal of fostering a therapeutic milieu that encourages the achievement of treatment goals.
