Midwife Opportunity with Mercy Health Youngstown

Midwife Opportunity:

Mercy Heath Physicians Youngstown is seeking an experienced Midwife to join our dynamic multi-specialty growing Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This full-time position is part of Women's Services at our St. Joseph Warren Hospital. The midwife is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to laboring individuals and their families throughout the intrapartum and immediate postpartum period. Coverage includes active participation in labor management, conducting deliveries, and collaborating closely with the obstetric, anesthesia, and nursing teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care. The midwife is expected to perform timely assessments, document accurately, communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Additional responsibilities include attending rounds, managing triage patients, facilitating patient education, and ensuring smooth transitions of care at shift change.

Requirements:

  • Board certified/eligible at time of employment.
  • Minimum of two years of practice experience
  • Licensed in the state of OH by the time of employment.
  • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS and NRP for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association. Need to obtain ACLS upon starting.
